What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith, in a friendly, open and informal environment.  Each session looks at a different question, and is designed to create conversation.  There is no pressure, no follow-up and it is FREE.  It’s an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.

Alpha at Birch Cove Baptist Church is a journey.  The sessions are held weekly.  No matter where Alpha takes place, the format is the same.  We eat together (in-person sessions only), we listen to a video and then we gather together in small groups for discussion.  Over 29 million people across the globe have done Alpha.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone and anyone. The beauty of Alpha is that there are no questions that are too hostile, too silly or too simple.  Alpha has no prerequisites whatsoever.  We come together with one another as we are, free to be ourselves.
